PRACTICAL DRIVING TESTS: Anyone who had their driving test cancelled due to corona virus and then given a rescheduled time and date, your test WILL NOT go ahead. You will be receiving a new email from the D.V.S.A. inviting you to select a new time and date. Only pupils who had a test cancelled may book a new test, no new bookings are being accepted by the D.V.S.A. at the moment.
On the day of your test you must arrive 5 minutes before your test time. The test centre facilities will be closed, the only exceptions being people with disabilities, pregnant or a medical conditions may use the toilets. The examiners will be wearing PPE (mask, gloves), nobody will be allowed to accompany you on your test, it will be just you and the examiner. Fewer people will be taking a test at any one time. YOU MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING DURING YOUR DRIVING TEST unless you have a good reason not to. This MUST be advised when booking your test. YOUR TEST WILL BE CANCELLED IF YOU COME FOR YOUR TEST WITHOUT A FACE COVERING AND YOU DID NOT DECLARE YOU COULD NOT WEAR ONE WHEN YOU ARRANGED THE TEST. You will be asked to remove it briefly to check your ID.
During the test if you have a problem with your face covering you may be asked to stop to adjust it. If you make a serious or dangerous fault, rather than finish the test route the examiner will guide you back to the test centre early to minimise the amount of time spent in the vehicle.
When arriving back at the test centre you will be asked to get out the vehicle and the examiner will then give you the result and any feedback. At this point your instructor may wish to listen as well keeping a social distance from both you and the examiner.
We are advising our Instructors on procedures to help combat and prevent the spread of Covid-19 and many are now certified on awareness and prevention of the Covid-19 virus. We have now uploaded a Covid-19 Policy to our website for ALL existing and new pupils, this include’s car cleaning and what pupils will be expected to do to assist their instructor. We ask that you read this page and make yourself aware of your obligations as a pupil.
We would like to thank all our instructors for their efforts so far and will assist them as best we can when lessons resume. We would also like to thank you, the pupils, for being so understanding. These are unprecedented times we are in at the moment and going forward will be different for everyone.
